Very few Delhi cat parents have ever taken a cat to a groomer, and that is entirely reasonable, because the journey is usually worse for the cat than whatever the grooming was meant to fix. Delhi adds its own wrinkle in winter: room heaters and blowers pull the humidity out of a flat for weeks on end, and long-haired cats respond with dandruff along the spine and a ruff that felts faster than their owners expect. Grooming at home means no carrier, no lift, no car, and a session that can stop the moment your cat says so. Full cat grooming is Rs. 2,000.
FromRs. 2,000
The Delhi cat population has grown fast and quietly, particularly in the barsati and builder-floor flats of Greater Kailash, Hauz Khas and Safdarjung Enclave, and in the newer Dwarka and Rohini societies where an indoor-only cat makes more sense than a dog. What we are called for is rarely a bath. It is a Persian whose belly has matted through a dry January, a senior cat in Defence Colony who has stopped reaching her own back, or a rescued Indian cat from a Punjabi Bagh household who has never been combed and needs a first session that is mostly patience. First visits in Delhi are deliberately short, and we would rather finish combing and nails and come back than win an argument with a frightened cat.
