Delhi does not have one grooming season, it has two opposite ones. The dry 45-degree run through May and June bakes loose undercoat into felt behind the elbows and hips, and then from November the smog settles into the oily guard hairs as a grey film that a bucket bath mostly smears around. Because our groomer works inside your flat with a forced-air dryer, a winter bath finishes with a dog that is dry right down to the skin before the evening air drops. A full session is Rs. 2,000 and takes between 60 and 120 minutes depending on size and coat.

Two things drive dog grooming demand in Delhi, and neither has much to do with looks. The first is distance: a Rohini or Dwarka pet parent has no realistic way of reaching a decent salon in Greater Kailash without putting a dog through an hour of Ring Road traffic each way, which is why doorstep bookings from the outer colonies outnumber the central ones. The second is air. Pet parents in Vasant Kunj, Hauz Khas and Defence Colony call us most often between late October and January, usually describing constant scratching that they assume is a food allergy and that turns out to be particulate matter bound into the coat. Punjabi Bagh and the older west Delhi houses tend to book on a longer cycle because more of those dogs are short-coated Indies and Labradors.
