Tick pressure in Delhi is seasonal rather than constant, and it climbs sharply once the monsoon breaks. August through November is when we do most of this work, because the brown dog tick breeds hardest in that warm, damp window and the colony lawns and park edges are full of dogs picking them up from each other. This is a grooming treatment, not veterinary care: it clears what is on the coat today and tells you honestly how bad the load is. The session is Rs. 2,500 and includes a written note of where the heaviest activity was found.

Delhi has a specific reinfestation problem that other cities do not share in quite the same way. A very large number of dogs here walk the same few green spaces every evening, whether that is the Deer Park circuit near Hauz Khas, a Defence Colony park, the Dwarka sector greens or the shared lawns of a Rohini block, so a tick load is genuinely a neighbourhood-level thing rather than a household one. The second issue is winter storage. Once the weather turns, blankets and dog beds go into steel almirahs and back out again, and the eggs travel with them. When we treat a dog in Saket or Punjabi Bagh, the groomer will point out the exact corner, rug or balcony crate that keeps putting ticks back on your pet, which is the part a salon bath can never do for you.
